Pauline and I are not true live-aboards. We find the mid-Summer months of July and August too hot (especially in the Mediterranean) and spending the Winter cooped up on a boat holds no attraction for us.
Our usual cruising routine has therefore been to sail during April through June and then to lay the boat up for July and August, avoiding the summer crowds and costliest part of the year, before returning to the boat to sail during September and October.
We try to lay 'Sundancer' up ashore for the winter at the end of October, at which time we again return to UK.
While we are cruising, Pauline keeps in touch with family and friends with 'reports' on our activities sent by e-mail. We have consolidated these and added photographs to form the following annual reports:
- 2002 - French Biscay Coast - Plymouth to Hendaye
- 2003 - Atlantic Spain and Portugal - Hendaye to Portimao
- 2004 - Mediterranean Spain and the Balearics - Portimao to Porto Cristo, (Mallorca)
- 2005 - Balearics to the Ionian Islands of Greece - Porto Cristo to Gouvia, Corfu
- 2006 - The Ionian to Turkey - Gouvia to Marmaris, Turkey.
- 2007 - Turkey - The Carian Coasts, Marmaris to Turgutreis.
- 2008 - return to Greece.
- 2009 - Epilogue.
